Today was great... obviously... c'mon!
After we woke up we debated how the day should turn out... here's how it went:
We started off by getting lost on the metro... i think the mass confusion set in somewhere in grand central station... either way we somehow ended up on legitimate Broadway... none of this rip-off Winnipeg Broadway bullshit. It rained non-stop on our adventures today, thankfully I had my 100% waterproof yet breathable mountain equipment co-op jacket that my generous family members threw down for me... i might also mention that said jacket will probably be my snowboard jacket in the alps...
Aah, I'm getting carried away. So we checked out Broadway and we got some sweet scarves that will aide us on fitting in during our European ventures. Midway through our Broadway wetness Brandice picked up a sweet pair of sneakers to sneak around with. We then feasted on some terrible Wendy's... Sheen one-upped us and walked across the street for some refreshing salad; way to make us feel even worse than the grease soaked 2000 cal burgs already did. We then metro-ed back to our hostel... at this point lake Nike was present in between all ten of my toes, both arches and left heel... for some reason the right heel was alright... we were wet. Sheen's wind-breaker was definitely just a windbreaker... Sheen you poor thing... that 2 dollar umbrella totally saved you.
Obviously after we got back we picked up some Colt 45s to sip while we ate our nasty butterless kraft dinner accompanied by mixed canned veggies. I should let you know that Colt 45 is a malt liquor... not quite a beer, but almost. It worked some serious magic. After feasting on our mouth-watering canned/boxed foods we mingled with the locals... LIST: 2 dozen or so Germans, a handful of french, some amazing english girls, dude from India who is here to study film, an amazing girl from amsterdam who is photography genious. I ended up chatting it up with some amazing french man named Gauthier who highly recommended the city of Grenoble, France. I think he sold me on it. I would like to give a shout-out to my parents right now: thank you so much for putting me through french school for 12 years. Eventhough he admitted his opinion may be slightly biased, Gauthier says that Grenoble is the place to be. Living is cheap and the skiing is glorious... Les olympiques du 1968 a Grenoble. Amazing.
According to the french guys we're gonna have a tough time finding work in Paris.
I forgot to Mention that Gauthier has one of the sweetest hats ever... If everyone in France is half as awesome Gauthier and his friends then I think life will be awesome.
Backtrack a bit: Some older woman of considerable mass and her lovely daughter are now bunking in our room... I think the mother smells though because our room now smells of terrible things and she decided to shut the A/C off.. it seems to be a re-occurring fad in our room to shut the air off. What the HELL people... we need circulation! Tonight's sleep will be questionable... hopefully sleep is the proper term.
I think after a while of being a part of the scenery here in the living room at the Jazz on the villa, I am really excited to see what happens at the hostels we end up in further into the trip.
bah, 2:30 am... just learnt everything about film making from my good friend beside me. Awesome.
Goodnight and... ah well just a good night would be nice.
