Lets recap todays glorious events......
We woke up after our first sleep in a 14 bed hostel room to the beautiful sounds of construction and some french man coughing up all 7 of his lungs.... this man also thought it would be a great idea to shut the A/C off... so it was hot too. After our afternoon rising we headed out into our hood of Harlem where our homies be at. We subwayed down to Times Sqaure and took it all in; if I had to explain it I would say it looks like what I know about Las Vegas but a lot taller and everything is an over-sized LCD advertisement. Traffic, by the way, is INTENSE. If you aren't checking yourself the only warning you get is a last minute honk... no slowing down around here... This is Manhatten foo! After Times Square we ventured randomly and ran into the building where the Late Show with David Letterman is hosted. We definitely went around the corner and visited our friend Rupert Jee at the Hello Deli. YES YES YES YES YES. I bought a Snapple from this glorious human being and Sheen recieved the boldest high-five ever from him.
Ground Zero came next. I almost couldn't deal with it. At first it didn't set in but after I took a good look around and realized the size of the buildings that fell it really hit me. Definitely an emotional time. We walked past the NYFD hall #10 dirrectly across from the grounds and I immediatley felt something that I couldn't quite locate. AAAaaaaaaah.... fuck all that. I couldn't imagine if I actually knew people that were affected by that terrible day. I'll never forget
We then ventured down wall street past the big dink Trump building and towards Battery Park... for those who don't know about Battery Park, it is the birthplace of shit-goin-down but we were there at sunset and it glorious... we ran into some lady with the cutest dog that had an obsession with her pant cuffs... she dragged him along by her pants... the dog couldn't have been happier. After our statue of liberty sunset at battery park we lugged it home at picked up some casual eats at the local corner store in our flip flops. $5.26 american dollars will get you 2 cans of beans, 2 cans of amazing veggies and 3 packages of chicken noodles. We feasted. While eating outside on our patio we chatted it up some friendly french women in they're later 20s... they ruled... we now know of some places to check out in Ireland and Paris.
Now that we were full of beens, ravioli, bread, really cheap beer and Sheen's myterious canned beef that he found on the streets of Harlem, Sheen, Ryan and I decided to make our ways into Central Park... it was dark at this time. Who knows what we were thinking. Basically as soon as we arrived in Central Park we ran into some guy cruisin down a hill on his bike who decided to stop and play us in a game of skate. He may have been capabable however he was pretty drunk and he had just taken a nice slam on his bike because he decided to close his eyes for bit. Brilliant... apparently he is sponsored by 5boro or something... Sheen knows more about it. Then came the rain! Three guys, three skateboards and the rain in central park at sometime past midnight; life couldn't have been better... After a beautiful downhill jam in the rain we travelled into the depths and darkness of Central Park. We had to take shelter for a bit at the tennis club building. We gave up on the rain and just basically champed it with our shirts off... We found the sickest downhill jam and hit it hard in the rain. After seeing two crazy raccoons on our way out of the park we jumped onto a metro soaking wet with no shirts on.... once again we were a visible minority and this time with no shirts on... genious. We made it back to Harlem just fine...still raining.
And here i sit again in the living space of the Jazz on the villa in the heart of Harlem soaking wet and shirtless with my two boyees.
